About Villa Fuga
The original stone house is nearly a century old and has been in the family since its construction. Each stone was hand carved with original details still evident in the entrance way and kitchen window. The villa has been upgraded with all the modern luxuries without losing its old world charm. The villa can host upto 9 guests in its 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths. An impressive exterior, with connecting stone balconies, pavillion, swings, indigenous plants, and little vineyard form a spacious private courtyard around the outdoor pool.
Name & Location
We chose to name this villa Fuga, because it has two meanings. The most common comes from the latin word "fugare" which can mean to put to flight, escape. Obviously, we prefer escape, as this villa offers a escape from work into a beautiful vacation. The second definition is from the Croatian word used for the filling between two stones or tiles. The villa is a traditional stone house so there are lots of "fuge" throughout. Whichever definition ---- Fuga seemed appropriate.
